As one of the first female heroines in comics, Wonder Woman naturally comes to mind. She is a fictional DC Comics superheroine created by William Moulton Marston.

Wonder Woman is actually Diana, princess of the Amazons from Greek Mythology. The Origin of Wonder Woman

In its original form, Wonder Woman of Diana was the princess of a tribe of Amazons who lived on a secret island. During World War II, everything changed when an American pilot Steve Trevor crashed near the island.

Diana healed the man, fell in love and entered a tournament to fight the Nazis as an Amazon warrior. She attends the tournament and this already gave her super powers. She then traveled to America with Steve Trevor. There she took the pseudonym Diana Prince. Eventually, she already started fighting Wonder Woman with the Allies. Some minor changes have been made in the modern version of Wonder Woman, but she still remains one of the strongest superheroes ever.
