Wallpaper instruction Komar Paper Wall Murals

Wallpapering with paper wallpaper is not difficult. However, it is important that you pay attention to a number of things. Below are a number of steps and tips to properly wallpaper the wallpaper.

Order Received
Before you start wallpapering, check whether you have received everything. Lay out all the parts and put them in the correct order. Check whether all parts fit together properly. If these do not fit together properly, please report this immediately to our customer service (once it has been stuck to the wall, you can no longer complain about the photo wallpaper). Allow the wallpaper to acclimatize for 24 hours before applying to prevent shrinkage. For optimal results, the temperature of the room to be wallpapered should be between 18-21ºC.

1. Surface preparation
The wall on which the wallpaper is pasted must be smooth, grease-free, dry and clean. For a nice, sleek result, we also recommend removing old wallpaper and not sticking wallpaper over wallpaper. Tip; make sure that the surface is light and has an even color so that it cannot shine through. The desired temperature in the room is between 18-20 °C so that the wallpaper does not dry too quickly and therefore come loose from the wall. Tip; Draw a perpendicular line on the wall so that your wallpaper does not hang crookedly. Many walls aren't exactly at a right angle - so attach the photo wallpaper from the center of the wall outwards and use a spirit level, plumb bob and pencil to draw a horizontal and vertical guideline.

2. Apply glue
Use glue that is suitable for application to the wall and suitable for paper wallpaper. Apply the glue directly to the wallpaper with a wallpaper roller (1 strip at a time). Allow the glue to soak in/soak for exactly 3 minutes on all sheets and do not place the glued pieces of paper on top of each other.

3. Wallpapering
Place the strips (with approx. 3 cm overlap to the ceiling) on the guidelines and smooth them from top to bottom. Allow the strips to overlap by 2-3 mm (the strips will become wider during soaking). The wallpaper has a tendency to shrink on the wall. Do you have air bubbles? Rub it out to the side with a spatula or a wallpaper pressure roller. You can puncture large air bubbles with a pin and small air bubbles often disappear when drying. Tip; use a wallpaper seam roller for an even tighter result.

4. Drying
Drying should be done very slowly. Work at a room temperature of approx. 18-20°C and avoid drafts (keep windows closed, heat moderately in winter). And finally, after drying, carefully remove the protruding edges with a cutting knife.
